In case you’ve been living under a rock, you may not have known that Blizzard just hosted their main event for the year Blizzcon. This year was slightly marred by their stance on Hong Kong but it didn’t really seem to phase them as big announcements really overshadowed any outside controversy.

Over the few days that the conference ran, there were three particularly large announcements, which weren’t any new games, but sequels to games we all love. Diablo IV, Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft Shadowlands were all announced. Below I’ll give you a tour around what we know about these titles so far.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

Pulled straight from the Shadowlands page, here are the features you get with the Expansion:

  • Explore the Realm of the Dead
  • Claim a Covenant’s Power
  • Ascend Tower of the Damned
  • Every Level is Meaningful
  • A New Army of the Dead Rises
  • Improved Character Customization Options
  • 3 Different editions for pre-purchase
    • Base edition Contents
      • The complete Shadowlands experience.
    • Heroic Edition Contents
      • The complete Shadowlands experience.
      • Level 120 character boost, available on pre-purchase.
      • Ensorcelled Everwyrm Mount, which grants access to a questline that awards the Vestments of the Eternal Traveler transmogrification set.
    • Epic Edition Contents
      • All content from the Heroic Edition
      • Anima Wyrmling pet
      • Wraithchill cosmetic weapon effect
      • Eternal Traveler’s Hearthstone
      • 30 Days of game time

Diablo IV (Diablo 4)

The newest incarnation of Diablo starts years after the end of Diablo III since the black soul stone was destroyed, the prime evil defeated and the fall Malthael, Angel of Death. Just when you think everything has returned to normal, an old name Lilith, daughter of Mephisto resurfaces.

Some of the features we already know about the new Diablo:

  • Open world! WOOOO
  • 5 distinct locations to explore
  • 5 Classes have been promised with 3 announced so far
    • Barbarian
    • Scorceris
    • Druid
    • TBA

Overwatch 2

In a world that was slowly expanding over the years, it seems Blizzard have decided to fully extend the universe that Overwatch sits in with the second iteration of the worldwide popular game! The game that was previously only online multiplayer is set to change all that with a story mode and a new character called Sojourn adding to their list of 31 characters. This is one we can’t wait for!

Blizzcon not without the controversy

The conference wouldn’t have been complete without at least one “Free Hong Kong” interruption, you can see this here by another red shirt! I bet they hated asking “Anything else?”
