WOW! AMD just dropped their most powerful CPU’s ever

Need a powerful CPU? 24-core and 32-core threadripper has you sorted

When you used to think about AMD, they never really entered the CPU war competition, until recently with their threadripper CPUs. They have just unveiled the most powerful desktop processor the new 24-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X and 32-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X.

What you’ve been waiting for, the SPECS!

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X24/48Up to 4.5/3.8140280W88 (72 useable)$1,399
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X32/64Up to 4.5/3.7144280W88 (72 useable)$1,999

These 3rd-generation Ryzen Threadripper Processors are built using AMD’s 7-nanometer “Zen 2” core architecture, and both chips feature 88 PCIe 4.0 lanes with extraordinary power efficiency.

The new 32-core Ryzen Threadripper 3970X offers up to 90 percent faster performance over the competition.

  • Up to 90 percent faster performance in Cinebench R20 nT
  • Up to 47 percent more performance in Adobe Premiere
  • Up to 49 percent more performance in V-Ray
  • Up to 43 percent more performance in Chromium Release 78 Compile
  • Up to 36 percent more performance in Unreal Engine

With a performance boost like this, you’d think that they are power MAD! But AMD say that they are 66% better power efficient compared to the previous generation of processors.

As per usual, we’re looking at a new socket again! Which means shelling out more bills for a new motherboard which supports the sTRX4 socket.

“With our 3rd-generation AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors, AMD is once again raising the performance bar significantly for creators, developers, and PC enthusiasts,” said Saied Moshkelani, senior vice president and general manager, AMD Client Compute

When will it be released you say?
